BENEATH THE WING OF GOD
Words & Music by Glenda Hawkins Davis
Beneath the wing of God I find contentment;
Beneath the wing of God I find His peace;
Whatever may befall all those around me,
Safe am I beneath my Father's wing.
There is much in this old world that really might alarm me;
Wickedness abounds around me, but God is in control.
Satan wants us all to think that he is really winning--
Well, he may touch my body, but he cannot touch my soul!
Beneath the wing of God I find contentment;
Beneath the wing of God I find His peace;
Whatever may befall all those around me,
Safe am I beneath my Father's wing.
Sometimes when I'm feeling low, I make myself remember:
God has made a covenant with His children who obey;
Satan wants us all to think that he is really winning--
Well, he may sometimes frighten me, but then he'll hear me say,
Beneath the wing of God I find contentment;
Beneath the wing of God I find His peace;
Whatever may befall all those around me,
Safe am I beneath my Father's wing.
