TAKE YOUR STAND, CHILD OF GOD

Take your stand, child of God, against the devil's schemes;

He'll try to get you sidetracked by using any means

To deceive you or confuse you; but you can overcome:

Resist him with the Word and put the devil on the run!

Stand firm!  Take the sword, which is the Word of God.

Be alert! Keep on praying, and walk where saints have trod.

Be ready! Be strong in the Lord and in His might;

Put on the belt of truth and walk always in the light.

The breastplate of righteousness put firmly in place,

With the helmet of salvation and the shield of faith.

Be ready! On your feet have the gospel of peace,

For the war has been won, but the battles never cease.

Our battles are against all the powers of the dark,

And their methods are deceitful, but Child of God, take heart:

Jesus Christ, our Savior, has won the victory--

He has conquered death forever, and from sin has set us free!

But we have to fight our battles until He comes again

To establish here His kingdom, where with Him we will reign.

So, be alert! Be sober; be vigilant and strong;

Stand fast until the end; child of God, it won't be long!

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
