Barabbas, did you know the One
They chose to take your place--
The One who had done nothing wrong,
The Man of truth and grace?
Barabbas, did you know they couldn't
Take the Man called Christ?
No, willingly He gave His life
To be your sacrifice.

Barabbas, did you know your name
Just means "a father's son"?
Though your name was the one they called,
You stood for ev'ryone.
Barabbas, did you know you were
The first to be set free?
But when they crucified the Christ,
He also died for me.

Barabbas, you're so much like me
I see you in the mirror!
Though once I thought I was okay,
My vision now is clearer:
It was my sin that held Him there
The day He chose to die.
Though you had been convicted,
We're both guilty, you and I.

Barabbas, did you know the One
